How to upload files and whole folders
Drag a folder in and its structure comes with it, so nothing is flattened. Large files upload in chunks, which means a dropped connection resumes instead of starting over.
- 1 Open Upload, then drop files in, browse for them, or pick a whole folder.
- 2 Pick a folder to keep its subfolders intact.
- 3 Follow progress in the upload dock, which stays with you as you move around the app.
- 4 Leave large files running: they upload in chunks and resume if the connection drops.
- 5 Open Files to find the folder exactly as it was on your computer.
Here’s my workspace. Let’s add some files to it.
Head over to Upload. You can drop files right here, browse for them, or pick a whole folder.
Let’s pick a folder. Photos, subfolders, everything inside it.
And look at that. The folder structure comes along. Nothing gets flattened.
Uploads run in the background. This little dock in the corner follows you around the app.
Big files? They upload in chunks. If your connection drops, they pick up where they left off.
Back in Files. The new folder is here, exactly as it was on my computer.
One more thing. Every file shows where it came from. Web, desktop, mobile, or the command line.
