How a family plan works, step by step

You invite, from Billing
Any paid plan has a Family card on its Billing page. Type an address, press Invite. The card counts the places and shows the pool everyone will share. For each person who joins, you see a storage total and whether they hold more than the free 5 GB, and never their files.

They get one email
The link works for 7 days and only for the address it was sent to. The email says what is shared and what is not, before they decide anything.

Join a family plan
Alex (alex@example.com) wants to share their dosya.dev Pro plan with you. You keep your own account and your files stay private. What you share is the storage pool and the bill, which Alex pays.

They accept with their own account
A free account joins as it is. Someone who already pays for dosya is told to let that plan end first, because an account is on one plan at a time. Nothing about their files, passwords or Vault changes.

Everyone sees the same meter, and only their own files
A member's Billing page says whose plan they are on and shows the same pool, person by person. There are no plan controls, because the plan is not theirs to change. Leaving is always theirs, from the Members tab of this same card.

What happens when
- The payer cancels
- Members keep their accounts and return to the free 5 GB. Nothing is deleted. Subscribe again and the same people are restored, with no new invitations.
- A member leaves
- Their files go with them. They are back on 5 GB, and the space they used frees up for everyone else. Removing someone works the same way, and asks first.
- Someone already pays
- They let their own plan end, then accept. The invitation waits 7 days. An account is on one plan at a time, so nobody is billed twice.
Every member signs in with their own account, so each of them needs to meet the minimum age of 16 set out in our Terms of Service.
Any paid plan can be shared
Five others on each at no extra charge, and up to ten more places at $1 a month each. Yearly billing costs ten monthly payments for twelve months.
