Back up WordPress. Restore it free, at any size.
Scheduled backups of your whole site into dosya.dev, protected from deletion even if the site is hacked, and a restore that never asks you to upgrade.
Free plugin, version 0.3.1, GPL. WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+.
Your database and files, into dosya.dev, locked, and back out wherever you need them.
What the big backup plugins charge for
Restoring is free, at any size
No import limit, no paid add-on to bring a big site back, and no account needed to restore from a file you downloaded. A 40 GB site restores the same way a 40 MB one does.
Backups a hacked site cannot delete
Each site connects with its own key, which can add backups but never remove them. A backup lock keeps every backup untouchable for the window you choose, even from your own account.
Built for cheap hosting
Every job runs in small resumable steps, so a 30 second time limit, 128 MB of memory or a host that blocks loopback requests does not stop a backup halfway.
Everything in the plugin
All of it is in the free plugin. There is no pro version, no add-on store and no banner asking you to upgrade.
- Scheduled full and incremental backups A full backup first, then only what changed. Daily backups of a large site stay small and fast.
- Whole site, database or files Back up everything, or just the database before a risky plugin update.
- Straight into your dosya workspace Backups are ordinary files in a WordPress Backups folder, visible in the web, desktop and mobile apps.
- Optional encryption Set a passphrase on your site and every backup is encrypted before it leaves the server. Off by default.
- One-click restore Pick a backup and restore it. A safety copy of the database is taken first, so you can undo.
- Move a site to a new address Restore onto another host or domain and every URL in the database is rewritten for you.
- Selective restore Bring back only the database, a few tables, or a single folder such as wp-content/uploads.
- Standalone restorer A single file that rebuilds a site from its backup even when WordPress itself will not load.
- Per-site, no-delete key A connected site can only write to its own backup folder, and can never delete what it wrote.
- Backup lock Locked backups refuse delete and overwrite from every app, API and protocol until the lock expires.
- Verified, with a health email Every backup ends as verified, failed or skipped with a reason. A missed backup emails you even if the site is down.
- Retention that keeps what you need Old backups are pruned on your schedule, never inside the lock and never the newest good one.
Restores only ever start from your own wp-admin or WP-CLI, so nothing outside your site can overwrite it.
The plugin is free. Your plan sets the limits.
Backups count toward your normal dosya.dev storage. Restoring is free on every plan, and without an account at all.

Every button has a command
WP-CLI runs a whole backup or restore in one process, which is the fastest way through a large site and the easiest to put in a deploy script.
$ wp dosya backup --scope=full
$ wp dosya list
$ wp dosya verify <backup-id>
$ wp dosya restore <backup-id> --new-url=https://staging.example.com
$ wp dosya status Running in four steps
- 1 Install from your dashboard In wp-admin, open Plugins › Add New Plugin and search for dosya.
- 2 Connect to dosya.dev Open dosya Backup in the admin menu and press Connect to dosya. Approve the site in your browser and it gets its own key, limited to its own backup folder. No account yet? Make one on the way.
- 3 Run the first backup The first one is full. After that, backups are incremental and run on your schedule.
- 4 Restore whenever you need to From the same screen, onto the same site or a new one. Prefer to keep things local? The plugin also backs up to your own server with no account at all.
Backups you can open
Your backups are ordinary files in your workspace. Browse them in the apps, or pull them down with rclone, SFTP or the S3 API whenever you like.
