Latest

v1.9.0

October 27, 2026

New Features

  • Smart Search finds files by what is inside them, not just their names, with results as a list or a grid and image snippets. Web and desktop.
  • One search box in the top bar finds files, pages and settings.
  • Family plan: share one subscription with your family, and add extra places when you need them. Web, desktop and mobile.
  • 7-day free trial on paid plans.
  • Self-serve refunds: request a refund from Billing, no ticket needed.
  • Promo codes can be entered at checkout.

  • Share page redesigned, and recipients can save a shared file straight to their own dosya.dev.
  • New video player with playback speed, keyboard shortcuts and poster frames. Web, desktop and share pages.
  • Disk images open in the viewer like zip archives, and you can save an archive's contents into a workspace.
  • Folder uploads: upload a whole folder, check it as a tree first, or drop files onto a folder to upload into it.
  • Drag to move, sortable columns and a New menu. Web and mobile.
  • Import from 47 other cloud services in one step. Paid plans.
  • Privacy and your data: request a copy of everything we hold, confirmed by an emailed code, with a readable report beside the machine-readable one.
  • Delete your account immediately instead of waiting out the 30 days.
  • 34 languages on the web and 31 in the desktop and mobile apps, including right-to-left Arabic, Hebrew and Persian.

  • Comments load faster.
  • Desktop: sync is sturdier, conflict copies no longer loop, and the Issues tab pages through long lists.
  • Desktop: updates install faster and show an Installing state.
  • Mobile: backup is more reliable. Interruptions no longer use up retries, the progress ring no longer flickers, and phones with a generic name get their own backup folder.
  • Mobile: photo swipes and viewer sheets move smoothly.
  • Large HEIC photos now get thumbnails.
  • A tab that has been signed out takes you to sign-in, and a loader that runs too long offers a Reload button.
  • Invite and share links show their real expiry.
  • SFTP connections are more stable under heavy use.
  • Security hardening across Vault encryption, two-factor codes, key changes, sign-in and request limits, and the CLI updater.

  • Mobile: fixed the Android file picker not refreshing after a rename.

v1.8.0

September 28, 2026

New Features

  • Photo, video and document libraries: browse everything in a workspace by month, as a grid or a table with your own column layout. Web, desktop and mobile.
  • Open a zip without downloading it: browse the archive as a folder tree in the viewer and open or download just the entry you need. Web, desktop and mobile.
  • Choose where a workspace's files live when you create it. EU locations keep files under EU jurisdiction, and the choice applies to every upload, download, share and protocol connection.
  • Sharing redesigned: edit a link after creating it, a "Shared with me" view, and per-link download caps. Web and mobile.
  • Billing rebuilt as a statement with clear states, and a thank-you page after checkout or a plan change.
  • Redeem page rebuilt: coupon codes, Gumroad codes and the new Storage Codes all redeem in one place, and Gumroad packages show in Billing with their end or renewal date.
  • 14-day money-back guarantee on every plan.
  • API keys page rebuilt as a console with a clearer create flow.
  • Custom roles now apply the same way on every surface: web, desktop, CLI, WebDAV, S3 and the new SFTP access permission.
  • Account protection: sign-ins from a new device or place send an alert you can revoke, OAuth accounts can set a password, and a Vault can be unlocked with its recovery key.
  • Desktop: LAN Transfer sends files directly between two devices on the same network.
  • Desktop: theme menu in the title bar, and a reset-app option in Settings.
  • Android app available as a direct download from dosya.dev, with Android Auto support and in-app update checks. iPhone: in App Store review.
  • Mobile: dosya.dev appears as a location in the iOS Files app and in "Open with" and the share sheet.
  • Mobile: backup tab redesigned as a coverage ring showing what is and is not backed up yet.
  • CLI: upload a directory into a named folder, with progress, speed and ETA on recursive uploads.
  • Website: new Tutorials section with a page per how-to video, an enterprise contact page, an affiliate programme page, and a brand kit at /brand/.
  • The Desktop page shows one download for your OS, with Microsoft Store and Snap Store routes, checksums and requirements.

Improvements

  • Uploads are faster: direct-to-storage uploads, small files sent in batches, and lower latency on every upload path.
  • Shared files stream by range, so large previews start immediately.
  • The dashboard's cold load makes about half as many requests.
  • Every request now runs close to you instead of being pinned to one region.
  • Uploads keep the file's original date, and photos keep their capture date and orientation.
  • Name collisions on copy and move now return a clear conflict and accept a new name.
  • Storage is counted atomically, and the limit shown is the one the upload gate enforces.
  • Downgrading to a smaller plan must be named and confirmed.
  • Free plan fair use published: share links metered at 10 GB a day, default API key ceilings, trash kept 7 days (30 on paid plans).
  • Referral bonuses pay out once the invited person activates.
  • Billing notices count add-ons and packages and are sent once per account.
  • Desktop: large files upload in parts, sync reports exactly what synced, and offline and revoked-session states are stated plainly.
  • Mobile: files over 50 MB upload, favouriting is instant, and EPUBs open without crashing the reader.
  • CLI: batch uploads and clearer errors when a surface is paused for maintenance.
  • Website: public claims reconciled with what the product enforces, structured data across the site, accessible colour contrast throughout.
  • Additional security hardening across sharing, folder locks, API keys, sign-in rate limits and protocol doors following an internal audit.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a freshly paired desktop sync folder deleting files it had not downloaded yet.
  • Fixed desktop deletions of missing files not reaching other devices.
  • Fixed viewer keyboard shortcuts hijacking arrow keys typed into a field.
  • Fixed a never-expiring share link gaining an expiry when edited.
  • Fixed bulk folder deletes stopping early and reporting the folder as gone.
  • Fixed photo tiles requesting full originals instead of thumbnails.
  • Fixed zip paths written on Windows collapsing into one entry name.
  • Fixed search results for a folder-confined member escaping their folder.
  • Fixed Vault uploads and the analytics beacon being blocked by the browser policy.
  • Fixed the S3 docs advertising the wrong endpoint and key format.
  • Fixed PDF viewer styles missing on the share page.
  • Fixed invisible characters sneaking into display and workspace names.
  • Fixed webhook settings accepting a bad active flag and untrimmed URLs.
  • Fixed a plan being granted for an unpaid subscription.
  • Fixed audit and notification entries occasionally being dropped under load.
  • Mobile: fixed a Live Photo losing its video during backup, backup stalling on an unreadable item, and the previous account's storage showing after switching accounts.
  • CLI: fixed upload -r flattening the directory tree.

v1.7.0

August 25, 2026

New Features

  • Notifications got a major expansion: new alerts for security events (password reset, 2FA changes, failed sign-ins, sessions revoked by staff), team and role changes, billing and plan changes, a device that stopped syncing, failing webhooks, and approaching storage or usage limits.
  • Delete your own account directly from Settings on web and desktop - no support ticket required.
  • Cancel or resume your subscription directly from Billing settings.
  • Edit Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) directly in the desktop app, not just preview them.
  • Read EPUB ebooks in the browser and desktop app, with bookmarks and a two-page spread view.
  • PDF preview now uses an in-app themed viewer instead of the browser's built-in one, with the toolbar merged into the header.
  • Duplicate finder and Photo map are now available in the desktop app.
  • Share recipients can report a file they were sent.
  • File requests get a detail panel on desktop for reviewing recipients and resending.

Improvements

  • Notification preferences consolidated from 18 scattered toggles into 14 clear groups.
  • Desktop app gets a notification inbox for reviewing past notifications.
  • Desktop sync was rebuilt for speed and reliability, with a faster local index and quicker delta transfers.
  • Desktop sync now shows exactly which files and folders are excluded, and logs every skip.
  • Dragging a folder onto the upload area now uploads its contents instead of failing.
  • The upload dialog shows a workspace's file-size and type rules upfront, instead of only failing after the upload starts.
  • Pricing page redesigned with a four-plan layout, a slider for Pro storage, and clearer comparison copy.
  • File viewer renders CSV files as tables and Markdown as formatted text, plays subtitles, and shows a clear error instead of a blank screen when a format can't preview.
  • File preview redesigned into a cleaner stage-and-inspector layout; Office files get a header Edit entry.
  • Referral list now distinguishes disqualified invites ("Not eligible") from ones still pending.
  • The /desktop page shows real screenshots and verified facts instead of generic claims.
  • Help Center expanded to cover the whole product, with every answer linking to its full guide.
  • Comparison pages now include full feature and pricing tables.
  • Additional security hardening across authentication, uploads, and workspace permissions following an internal audit.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed unsubscribe links in emails leading to broken pages.
  • Fixed a password-protected share's access code appearing in the notification email's subject line.
  • Fixed file moves failing unpredictably when also renaming the file, or when moving into a folder that already had a same-named file - now shows a clear conflict instead of crashing.
  • Fixed a rare case where concurrent uploads could bypass a workspace's storage limit.
  • Fixed anonymous file-request uploads rejecting filenames that contained an apostrophe.
  • Fixed WebDAV uploads occasionally overwriting an existing file instead of respecting conditional headers.
  • Fixed 4K photos and videos overflowing the preview on short browser windows.
  • Fixed the desktop updater sometimes getting stuck reinstalling the same version; it now also checks for updates every 4 hours.
  • Fixed the Cmd/Ctrl+K search shortcut and unclickable search results on desktop.
  • Fixed the dosya:// link handler and app name on Linux (AppImage).
  • Fixed several gaps where workspace roles and folder-confined access didn't consistently restrict actions across sync, comments, file requests, and bulk actions.

v1.6.1

August 12, 2026

Improvements

  • Desktop sync and the CLI no longer include hidden files and folders, or the contents of a folder that is locked or set to view-only. The web app already left these out; sync now matches it.
  • Because of that change, anything already on your machine that falls into one of those categories is removed from your local copy on the next sync. Nothing is deleted from your storage - only the local copy that should not have been there.
  • Sync still needs workspace-wide file access to run at all. If your role does not grant it, sync reports an error instead of connecting - it does not sync a smaller set of folders.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed deletions never reaching desktop sync or the CLI: a file or folder you removed on one device stayed on the others until a full re-sync.
  • Fixed sync pages occasionally returning fewer files than requested, and a locked folder taking up to a minute to disappear from connected clients.

  • Import from Google Drive: connect your Google account and copy files into dosya.dev. Imports run in the background, so you can close the tab.
  • Private share links: restrict a link to specific email addresses and choose a custom expiry.
  • File requests now have a dedicated page for reviewing received uploads and editing request settings.
  • Granular access controls: scope access to specific folders, attach access conditions, and set usage limits.

  • Outbound webhooks: receive signed HTTP notifications at your own endpoints when events happen in your workspace.
  • Referral program: invite friends and earn +5 GB of extra storage for each signup.
  • WebDAV smart views: mount virtual folders like All, Documents, Images, Videos, Shared, and Deleted - and mount by workspace name for a readable volume label.
