Collect files from clients. No account needed for them.
Collect photos, video footage, audio and project assets in your Dosya workspace. Send a request link; your client uploads in their browser without signing up.
You need a Dosya account to create a request. Received files use your available storage.
Three steps to collect files
Create
Open File requests in your workspace and choose New request. Pick a destination, add instructions, and set the rules your project needs.
Send
Send the link to your client. Accepted files start uploading as soon as they add them, so ask them to check their selection and keep the page open.
Receive
Your client waits for the stamped receipt. Review the uploads in File requests and open the received files in the destination folder.
What you can control
Destination Folder
Choose the destination and optionally give each uploader a separate folder to keep incoming assets organized.
File Type Filters
Set allowed filename extensions such as .mp4, .wav or .zip. These rules check filename extensions, not file contents.
Deadlines
Set a deadline. After it passes, the upload link stops accepting new files.
Size Limits
Set a maximum size for each file and a maximum file count across the request. These are separate from available storage.
Upload Review
Review received filenames, sizes and submission details. Optional names and emails help organize work; they do not verify identity.
Isolated Uploads
The request does not expose your workspace or a shared folder listing. Uploaders can review submissions associated with their browser or invitation link.
What limits a file request?
Your available storage
File requests are available on all plans. Free includes 5 GB total storage, shared with your other files. Received files count against the workspace owner’s plan and any workspace storage cap. A new request does not create extra capacity. Compare storage plans.
The rules you choose
A size limit applies to each file. A file-count limit applies across all uploaders on that request. Leaving these blank removes the request-specific caps, but storage limits still apply. Choose an expiry or Never; Never removes only the deadline.
Access to the destination
You need upload permission to create a request. A Full lock on the destination or a parent folder blocks public uploads. Add an optional request password when needed, and share the link only with the intended people.
File requests in action
Illustrated examples with sample rules. The 100 MB limit below is chosen for that request, not a limit for every Dosya upload.
Client uploads brand assets via file request
RECEIVEDSomeone uploads a .exe file but only .pdf is allowed
REJECTEDStudent tries to submit after deadline
CLOSEDFile exceeds this request’s 100 MB limit
TOO LARGETry one client intake before a full project
For example, collect a few reference photos, a short video clip or a WAV mix before asking for the full delivery. Choose a small, non-sensitive sample you own and keep the original.
- Create a request with clear instructions. Name the project, choose the destination and describe the files you need. Check remaining storage and allow enough file slots for your test and the client’s delivery.
- Open the link in a signed-out or private browser window. Check the title, message, password and rules. Enter any optional name or email before adding the sample: accepted files upload immediately.
- Wait for the receipt and verify the received file. Keep the upload page open. In your owner account, review the request and find the file in its destination, including any uploader subfolder. Download and open it; a sample upload uses storage and a file slot too.
- Send the tested request to your client. Ask them to keep the receipt until you confirm delivery. Use a separate share link when you are ready to send finished work back.

File request questions
Does my client need a Dosya account to upload?
No. Your client opens the request link and uploads in their browser. You need a Dosya account and upload permission in the destination workspace to create the request. If you set a request password, give it to the client separately.
Are file requests available on the Free plan?
Yes. Received files use the storage of the account that owns the workspace. Free includes 5 GB total storage, shared with your other files; each request does not add another allowance. Workspace storage caps also apply.
Can I collect large video files, photos or audio?
Yes, when the file fits the request’s rules and the available storage. Check the per-file size limit, remaining file slots and allowed extensions before adding it. Keep the upload page open until the receipt appears. A blank size limit does not mean unlimited storage.
Can uploaders browse my folder or other people’s files?
A file request does not grant access to your workspace or a shared folder listing. Uploaders can review submissions associated with their browser or invitation link. Names and email addresses entered on the page are labels, not verified identity; use your own client reference when matching deliveries.
Do clients need to press Upload after choosing files?
No. Accepted files start uploading automatically when added. Clients should check the request, enter any optional name or email, and choose the intended files first. Keep the page open until the stamped receipt confirms delivery; a filename in the queue is not confirmation.
Is a file request the same as a share link?
No. A file request collects incoming files into your workspace. A share link lets recipients view or download files you already have. Use a request for client intake and create a separate share link when the finished work is ready to deliver.
