How to find and remove duplicate files
Dosya scans the workspace in the background and groups byte-identical copies, with the space you would reclaim shown at the top. Clearing them keeps the newest copy of each and sends the rest to Deleted.
- 1 Open Duplicates; the workspace is scanned in the background.
- 2 Read the total space you can recover at the top of the page.
- 3 Look through the groups, each one a set of identical files.
- 4 Choose Select all but newest, then Move to trash.
- 5 Find the removed copies in Deleted if you change your mind.
Over time, copies pile up. Same photo in three folders. Let’s fix that.
Open Duplicates. The workspace is scanned in the background, and here are the groups.
Each group is a set of identical files. Up top, the space you can get back.
Choose “Select all but newest.” Then Move to trash.
Done. The newest copy of each stays. The rest are in Deleted, in case you change your mind.
