How to fix sync issues and tune performance
The Issues tab lists every file that did not make it and why, and one retry covers the whole list including the entries marked as won't retry. Settings is where you slow sync down on a weak connection or reclaim cache space.
- 1 Open the Sync page and go to the Issues tab first.
- 2 Read each stuck file with its reason: a locked file, a name the cloud will not take, or no room left.
- 3 Fix the cause, then retry the whole list, including entries marked as won't retry.
- 4 Snooze sync or cap concurrent transfers in Settings when the connection is weak.
- 5 Clear the cached files and previews to reclaim space; your actual files are untouched.
Sync is quiet when it works. When it doesn’t, the app should tell you exactly what’s stuck, and it does.
The Sync page has four tabs. Overview, Issues, Activity and Settings. Issues is the one to check first.
Every file that didn’t make it is listed, with the reason. A file that was locked. A name the cloud won’t take. Something that ran out of room.
Fix the cause, then retry the whole list. That includes the ones marked as won’t retry, so nothing is left behind.
On a weak connection, snooze sync for a while, or cap how many transfers run at once so the app isn’t fighting you for bandwidth.
Settings also decides how often it checks for remote changes. Less often is gentler on the battery.
And if you need the space back, clear the cached files and previews. Your actual files aren’t touched.
