How sync modes work in the Desktop App
Every sync folder has one mode, and it decides which way changes travel and whether deletions travel with them. Two of the five never delete anything, which is what you want for a camera folder or an offline copy.
- 1 Choose Full Sync to mirror both sides, deletions included; this suits most people.
- 2 Choose Push to Cloud to send local changes up only, deletions included, ignoring cloud changes.
- 3 Choose Protect and Upload for the careful version: it uploads changes but never deletes from the cloud.
- 4 Choose Pull from Cloud to bring cloud changes down only, deletions included.
- 5 Choose Save to Device to download changes while never deleting anything locally.

Full Sync is the mirror. A change on either side is applied to the other. That includes deletions, in both directions. This is the one most people want.
Push to Cloud only goes up. Your local changes are sent to the cloud, deletions included, and anything that changes in the cloud is ignored here.
Protect and Upload is the careful version of that. Local files are uploaded as they change, but nothing is ever deleted from the cloud. Good for a camera folder, or anything you’d hate to lose.
Pull from Cloud is the mirror image. Cloud changes come down to this device, deletions included, and your local changes are ignored.
And Save to Device is its careful version. Files are downloaded as they change, and nothing is ever deleted locally. That’s the one for keeping an offline copy.
You can change a folder’s mode later, from its settings. The next scan just follows the new rule.
