Save to dosya for Safari

Three right-click entries and one shortcut, straight into your dosya folders. It arrives as an app, then switches on inside Safari.

v0.1.3 macOS 13 Free

Install in three steps

  1. Download Save to dosya from the Mac App Store and open it once.
  2. In Safari, open Settings, then Extensions, and tick Save to dosya.
  3. Open the popup, sign in with your dosya account, and pick a default folder.

The shortcut is Cmd Shift S. Change it at Safari Settings, then Extensions.

What you get in Safari

Three right-click entries

Save image, Save selection as text, Save visible screenshot. They appear on the elements they apply to, and nowhere else.

One keyboard shortcut

Cmd Shift S saves the current selection, or a screenshot when nothing is selected.

A popup with your last ten saves

Status for each one, a copy-link button, and the default-folder picker.

Sign-in that survives a restart

Sign in through Safari's own identity window. The extension never sees a password.

Built for Safari

It arrives as an app, then switches on inside Safari

Safari does not take extensions from a web store. Each one ships inside a small Mac app, so Save to dosya is downloaded from the Mac App Store like any other application.

Open the app once after installing, then turn the extension on in Safari's settings under Extensions. From there it behaves exactly as it does everywhere else.

Every permission Safari will show you

This is the complete list, with what each one is actually for. Nothing here reads your history or your traffic.

Permission Why it is there
activeTab Reads the current tab's title and captures its visible area, only after you click the extension, use the shortcut, or pick a right-click entry.
contextMenus Adds the three right-click entries, and nothing else to the menu.
storage Holds the cached folder list and the default folder you chose.
unlimitedStorage Queues a capture locally until it finishes uploading. The default quota cannot hold a 50 MB one.
scripting Injects a small reader script at the moment of a save, to read the selection or an image's metadata. It does not run on pages you have not acted on.
identity Opens the browser's own sign-in window. The extension never asks for a password and never sees one.
notifications Tells you a save finished or failed while the popup is closed.
alarms Runs the retry backoff for a queued item while the popup is closed.
api.dosya.dev, app.dosya.dev The only two hosts it ever contacts: one for uploads and folder data, one for the sign-in page.
Optional: all sites Never asked at install. Requested for one site, at the moment a save fails because that site blocks the extension from reading an image. Decline and only that one save fails.
